This is generally an AMD article, but a couple of parts seemed interesting:

forbes.com

Article:

A part of that pitch these days is energy efficiency. At a FOSE breakfast sponsored by AMD Wednesday, Rick Indyke, a business development manager for AMD's federal unit, told the audience that data centers use more power in a year than the city of Las Vegas.

As he ran through a few of Google's offerings, such as its spreadsheet and mail applications, Girouard used the word "powerful" 19 times. But all that power, he acknowledged, leads to Google's biggest bottleneck: the energy required to process the huge amounts of incoming data. Users of Google's YouTube Web site, for example, post 10 hours of new video per minute.

me:

Wow, Las Vegas, the home of Neon everywhere. AMD and Google were very chummy at one time despite Otellini being on Google's board of directors.

If SPSN's server Eclispe along with Virident's hardware/software solutions works it could be huge. I wonder if AMD is involved in any way with server Eclipse?
