That was an accident due to a dud firebomb that didn't go off as planned. Doesn't count. As intended, the firebombs didn't cause even ONE death.

Another idiotic remark. These balloon attacks were essentially a terrorist tactic, and the federal government actually took measures to cover these deaths up -- including contacting local newspapers asking (and receiving) their cooperation in not printing the story so as to avoid creating fear and panic amongst the population.

As a terrorist device, which they were, they were a highly serious threat and were taken seriously by our government.

Obviously, the Japanese didn't care how the deaths happened, so long as they killed people and the intended result occurred. Had the federal government not intervened, there is very little doubt these attacks would have had precisely the desired effect.
