Look, we handed the keys to the country over to your team 8 years ago.

To be fair, you fought hard to keep those keys even though you had lost a fair-and-square election. Let's not make it sound like you did us a favor. We won the election because the American people were sick of Democrats running the country into the ground. And we won again in 04 because the American people breathed a collective sigh of relief that Gore had lost the election when 9/11 hit.

McCain wasn't my choice. But he is a good man, and frankly, with the exception of Ron Paul, the Republicans didn't have a candidate running that wasn't better than Hillary and Obama, combined. McCain has a track record, and at least we know what to expect from him. Obama is an extremist -- and has been able to hoodwink the youth because they're, well, young and stupid. But adults aren't going to vote for him.

So far, they haven't been able to manage their way out of a wet paper bag. When something goes wrong, they whine and complain it is someone else's fault. Unlike Truman, their sign says "The Buck Doesn't Stop Here". I've seen 8 year olds with a stronger sense of responsibility.

This is simply not true. If one compares this administration with the last Democrat administration, there is no comparison -- Bush has been squeaky clean, Clinton was a scandal a week for 8 years.

Bush clearly made some mistakes in execution of the war. But this happens in all wars -- hell, consider the mess the US was in during the Battle of the Bulge or the mistakes made in Vietnam. But eliminating Saddam was the right thing to have done, and if you don't believe that, you have to be able to say "YES" when you are asked, "Do you think we would be better off if Saddam had been left in power?" You may answer it Yes, but I don't know of many smart people who can.

History takes decades to decide what it does and doesn't like. If Obama wins, and we are hit with a major terrorist attack in 2010, we'll see what kind of man was elected.

I have no doubt that McCain is up to that challenge, should it occur. But nobody in his right mind can believe, with confidence, that Obama or Hillary is up to that task.

It has now been 7 years, and it is inarguable that Bush's policy has kept us from being hit again. I don't believe the American people are so stupid as to not realize this simple fact. I've argued with some smart people who believe we are not safer today as a result of Bush's presidency; but you cannot argue with the fact that we haven't been hit again.
