I agree with all of what you say. One gains a lot - but does pay a price. Interestingly I still have contact with 2 of my friends from grammar school. One grew up and stayed all his life close to my first home grounds and the other was moved - and later moved - around, almost as much as me. But he did spend a lot more time back in Sweden. So we represent 2 extremes and one in between that of such possible events and guess what, we have a few things to talk about. Mostly via Skype/chat or email because we seldom have a chance to meet.
