But I will say that the idea that the idea that our tax burden is low because other countries have a higher tax burden is a pretty weak argument.

I posted it to you because of the basic premise. That is, we get a lot of benefit from living in the US, and a biggest part of that benefit is our government/system of government. It costs money... and like almost everything, the less you pay the lower the quality. Granted you can overpay... but our government cost vs. our government benefit is a bargain.

So those that want to "kill the government" by relentlessly cutting taxes are also likely to kill the benefits of citizenship in the US. It's happening now... look at the dollar. We are inching towards a much lower competitive status in the world. And with every inch, we lose a bit of our standard of living.

You should take a step back from your ideology, clear your mind of your preconceptions, and look at things as they really are unfolding.
