Forgot to address personal preference in re scale of trend/timeline here, it's important imho ... we all see this differently, give greater/lesser weight to shorter/longer periods, some are looking to sell a pick in hours/days, others in a year or six
The same individual can view different stocks in different categories, i often do this to some degree, take a shorter or longer-term outlook on specific picks, or even different views on portions of the same pick, especially if they're in another account [in/out of rrsp, for example] ... minds can be quite compartmentalised, which works fine as long as you keep the doors between oiled so they swing open when necessary
