"CJ, I like how you stretch logic all ways."
What stretch?
"With Clinton, the "nuance" between "no interest" and "#1 priority" makes all the difference."
Oh, breaking out your special dictionary, I see. And, shooting for inscrutable. Well, you know, it isn't a binary choice. Realizing that there is a continuum between "no interest" and "#1 priority" does make all the difference.
Can't you even try to make sense?
"But with Bush, the missile defense system somehow proves that he had "no interest" in Al Qaeda."
Ah yes. It doesn't take long before the straw guys are out in force...
I was just pointing out what he was doing. His own words tell where his interests were. Or was he lying? During the 2000 campaign, the only times he mentioned terrorism was with respect that Clinton was too bellicose on the subject. The 2000 Republican platform did not mention al Qaeda at all.

It did, however, expound on the rogue nations theory.
It also had this to say about terrorism.
Republicans in Congress have led the way in building the domestic preparedness programs to train and equip local, state, and federal response personnel to deal with terrorist dangers in America. The administration has not offered clear leadership over these programs. They remain scattered across many agencies, uncoordinated and poorly managed. . . . We will ensure that federal law enforcement agencies have every lawful resource and authority they require to combat international organized crime.
"Mix that with your advocacy of the notion that terrorism should just be tolerated,"
Hey look! Another straw guy!
I never said it should be tolerated. Period. |
