Scott, It's the video/videoconferencing capability that intrigues me.
cwlive.cw.com:8080/home/print9497.nsf/All/SL39vnc1609616096 Corel makes risky NC move Pushing the VNC as the ''ultimate communications appliance,'' Corel Computer, a recently formed subsidiary of software maker Corel Corp., said its network computer will incorporate the highest performance of any network computer yet and offer videoconferencing over a LAN and Internet telephone capabilities.
We'll all know for sure at the end of the month Gala whether or not CCC has a (big) customer for these things. I'm guessing they do.
In my own ( sales & marketing ) experience with manufacturers, whenever I've brought a customer request for a new product to management the question is always "how many are they going to buy?" Whenever management considers a new production item the question is always "how many can you sell?" I could be wrong of course but I don't think CCC would have been formed without a "For Sure" sale or two.
