I did not realize that they have moved so quickly.
Comments made last month by B. Hala indicated that he was missing grafix component.

Receantly IDT has entered the market with their clone.

This would tell me that S3 might loose some sales of the low end chips. It seems like the windfall from volume of low end PCs will not materialize for S3.
Why would sys. integrator add S3 chip on a board at added cost when he can put two chips, few connectors assamble it in a box and call it a PC. It is not just the cost of a chip but the cost of integrating it on the board.
IMO if you can spand only $1000 on a PC you are not likely to buy a $120 graphix card.
