Good "stuff", Lee. Re. "Blotting out" of ones name from the "Book of life"---you needn't apologize for your interpretation---it is a good Armenian/Wesleyan position---I have found the trouble we have with one anothers doctrine is our bias. Let it be said---that this doctrine of eternal salvation vs. "blotting out" is much like two R.R. tracks one track being Calvinism and the other track being Armenianism---both are needed in order to keep our balance---so we don't run off the track. There are of course excesses on both sides of this doctrine. But don't be concerned---those that disagree aren't necessarily right or wrong.
A good Southern Baptist Theologian (one of my multitudes of books---but I can't recall his name right now) wrote a book entitled "Life in the Son"---he was going to convincingly prove the rationale and conclusion of Calvinism once and for all---however, he swithched positions and wrote for the side of Armenianism---but that of course is another debate/discussion that will not be answered this side of eternity.
I myself have never been satisfied with what Calvinistic commentators do with the 7-church "he that overcomes" section.
Well, I have "tooted my horn" and now the Calvinist can do their refuting and tooting.
J.
