Hanoi Jay By donsurber on McCain Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller attacked Republican Sen. John McCain’s service in Vietnam in pretty much the way Jane Fonda did in 1971. I like Rockefeller. He always seemed like a decent guy who does not seem to act like he is all that important. I have stood up for him on occasion. But his remarks to the Charleston Gazette’s editorial board, as reported by Paul Nyden, were utterly disgusting and an affront to any combat pilot, including Gen. Chuck Yeager of Hamlin, W.Va. <<< “McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they [the missiles] get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people.
