Hi bill-

I'm afraid I didn't quite follow you. Were you addressing some point I made in the post of mine you responded to? I think I missed the connection (wouldn't be the first time).

But to offer true end-end QoS, ATM is considered essential (and would require an ATM core as well as at the edge).

To effect "dial-tone" billing as well (where the ADSL connection is not nailed up), is the essence of Netspeed's "Digital Off-Hook" approach. This can be combined with their PPP over ATM solution.

But how does this tie in to my post to JW@?
