The current crisis is much worse. The credit bubble has popped,
and while the Fed is trying to restart the debt creation machine
(they actually drained the currency a bit),
the consumers are up to their ears in debt and up side down
on their mortgages. Nobody wants or can afford more debt.
Providing liquidity to banks won't make folks who are completely
broke spend more. The only bubble left to blow is in commodities.
Not a friendly bubble at all.
