You can read about it here Rolla: en.wikipedia.org My grandfather was in the thick of the Boxer Rebellion.

My point was that China should have been doing more than leasing the Hong Kong enclave to Britain. My grandfather gave up on the place after a couple of decades and came back to New Zealand in 1923, leaving it to the shambles, chaos, poverty and mass murder which ensued. Japan found the way open to enforce their variety of empire, which you might know was not based on Christian principles which the British brought.

TJ's grandfather was pleased to see my grandfather out of there. TJ ended up in a hut, hoping his father would survive the Red Guard's murderous regime, protected by goodwill from villagers who didn't mind too much that TJ would pull up neighbour's carrots and put the top back in the ground.

TJ made it out of there back to the civil world of the British Empire. TJ's grandfather and father got the government they deserved. They didn't like it. Especially they found the Japanese government untoward. Fortunately, the British Empire [including the USA component] came to the rescue and removed the Japanese.

History is a boring waste of time. What matters is where we go from here. But I know enough history and can look up other stuff thanks.

You have got a narrow and racist view of history which leads
you to false conclusions.
