How good a nation-state apparatus and tools to deal with crisis are, show you a glimpse on how and when the crisis can be solved.

Russia didn't have an apparatus to deal with the crisis. 70 years of communist rule did not prepare any country to deal with crisis and result is debacle.

US last crisis was 1930. 78 years crisis free makes the country less capable of dealing with crisis. Therefore you see throwing money at the problem as the solution.

Throwing wads of money (AG and Bernanke) at a problem won't solve it.

Only facing the problem, understanding it, devising possible scenarios, selling the solution to the ignorant masses for it to go along with it, implementing, fine tuning the implementation, informing the ignorant masses, putting up fires that appear during implementation, recording events, teaching lessons.

I see the nation-state devices the US can count to face the crisis as very weak. Thus crisis will be long to solve.

Prepare to suffa!
