Thats a bit unfair. Plenty of halliburtonites running around as well. But your earlier points are well taken. Whats needed before we go tinkering with bush tax cuts now, is genuine tax reform and imho that would include some aspects of national sales tax as well with exclusions for the working poor and lower middle class. Lets get the boat buyers. If they resist the sales tax, they can reinvest without penalty in new ventures. If we had some combination of income, cap gains and sales tax we might take down some of those scary numbers.
