Bed Bath reports lower 4th-qtr net income

LOS ANGELES, April 9 (Reuters) - U.S. home goods retailer Bed Bath & Beyond Inc (BBBY.O: Quote, Profile, Research) posted lower quarterly profit on Wednesday as the nationwide housing slump continued to weigh on sales.

Fourth-quarter net profit fell to $172.9 million, or 66 cents per share, from $205.8 million, or 72 cents a year ago.
