You made the claim that doctors didn't know they should wash their hands between patients in 1908.

The remark was incidental. Forget it. Yes, a few decades before 1908 Lister had made his discovery; however, the importance of handwashing between patients was still not widely recognized in 1908, and frankly, physicians in the 50s didn't consistently practice it, and frankly, frankly, as shown in the cited article, 15 years ago there continued to be substantial noncompliance.

You made the claim it was "universal" by the turn of the century, and I simply pointed out that you were wrong, again.

You have a tough time accepting it when someone corrects your mistakes. Perhaps you could find some psychological counseling for this problem.
