Intel & Cyrix Investors : Compaq/Cyrix Incompatibilities" Microsoft's Internet Explorer may not be 100% Compatible with some of Compaq's Presario Models. The ones listed as COMPATIBLE DO NOT INCLUDE the Model 2100. I kind of remember that the Model 2100 was the sub $1000 Compaq that uses the Cyrix Media GX chip. It is rather suspicious that Compaq DOES NOT LIST THIS model as COMPATIBLE with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. Seems the Presario 2100/MediaGX requires a slight "update" from Microsoft to make it work properly. I wonder what this all means? Doesn't x86 compatible mean Windows Compatible? I guess there's "compatible" and "almost compatible"! Check it out! The advisory recommends that users who have other Presario models wait until Compaq posts a modified version of the browser. compaq.com Important: Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 is supported on the following models of Compaq Presario Personal Computers: Compaq Presario 1200 Series, 1600 Series, 2200 Series, 4200 Series, 4500 Series, and 4800 Series Personal Computers. If you have a Compaq Presario model not listed, please wait to download Internet Explorer 4.0. A software upgrade for these computers will be provided soon as a free downloadom this site.
