Interestingly (to me, at least) of the six bankruptcies I have filed in the last two weeks not one was due to a crazy mortgage. All due to the old time usual reasons, medical bills, loss of job, death in the family, divorce.

Of the four I will file in the next week, two have mortgage issues, two don't.

So, 20% of this month's foreseeable BK related to mortgage/foreclosure issues, 80% not.

And we're still WAY below the number of filings before the 2005 changes to bankruptcy law (I won't bore you with this, it's a big deal to BK law here but snooze inducing otherwise.)

Outside of mortgage issues, which are not inconsiderable, the US economy remains steady as she goes.
