Connemara Mining says positive results extend Lough Sheelin drilling programme
04.09.08, 4:12 AM ET

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Connemara Mining Company Plc. said positive initial results at the Lough Sheelin zinc lead prospect has extended the drilling programme to 11 holes from 5 holes.

It added that, to date, results have been obtained for two holes, one of which missed the target while the other was barren.

'As the drilling proceeded the mineralisation improved. The last three holes, yet to be analysed, appear to contain significant grade and thickness of mineralisation,' Connemara said, adding that low to medium-grade mineralisation was observed in most holes.

'The good news in this story is that the mineralisation is open and we have not yet discovered the source -- although we appear to be moving closer to it,' said chairman John Teeling.

The Lough Sheelin property consists of five contiguous prospecting licences in counties Meath and Cavan in north-central Ireland.
