VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 9, 2008) - New Cantech Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE: NCV.V)(FRANKFURT:C7X) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that the Company's president James Jacuta and corporate attorney have just returned from Seoul, Korea. The purpose of the trip was to discuss a formalized Joint Venture Agreement with Palm Clean Energy Inc. and Daewon Chemical Co. Ltd. of Korea. The Company wishes to report that it is pleased with the meetings held in Korea with the Korean companies, their Presidents and legal counsel. Negotiations are progressing and discussions continue on details of a proposed Joint Venture Agreement. The Company currently expects that it will be able to announce the results of these discussions shortly.

The Company also reports A.C.A. Howe International Limited has advised the Company that it is concluding calculations on an updated NI 43-101 resource estimate on the Lucky Ship project and the Company expects to have this report made available shortly.

The Company will be attending the Cambridge Investment Resource Conference in Calgary on April 12th and 13th booth number 117. Company representatives will be available to answer questions regarding the Lucky Ship project.
