GWB picked Condoleeza Rica as his NSA. Granted that she is smart and was the Provost of Stanford University. However, her expertise was the USSR/Russia. She had to gave advice on invading Iraq with the false premise of WMD. This was the reason every neocon agreed to be presented to the country and to Congress (Wolfowitz admission).
Rice should know that invading a moslem country would not be successful since fanatics Moslems indoctrinate suicide bombers with the promise of 77 virgins (note: they never told them how old the virgins are. Can you imagine a young man died after blowing a bomb, and greeted by 77 virgins, all of them 77 years old?).
Rice should have known that the USSR was not successful in invading Afghanistan. Granted, the US were helping the Afghanistan freedom fighters.
How could Rice be fooled by the double agent Ahmad Chalabi? GWB did two major things for the fanatics clerics:
1. GWB did a favor to bin Laden by ruining America.
2. GWB did a favor to Iran eliminating its arch enemy Iraq and gaining influence in that country.
We, Americans deserve this calamity by this administration by electing and reelecting the same person.
The one lacking movement our country is the students who are our future leaders. Students in Asia are more militants and demand change to repressive leaders. They are a force albeit not political at the beginning, but they show strength in mass. Witness student movement in Indonesia which toppled both Sukarno and Suharto. Witness student movement in South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Myanmar, etc. Where are the students in the US? The last time I remember was Berkeley movement, Chicago Democratic Convention, Kent State. But where is the outrage by students regarding this war? maybe sporadic, but none is powerful enough to make change to the government.
When you have Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as opposition leaders, you have essentially no opposition to the Executive Branch. Bush once said that it would be nice for the country under a dictatorship as long as he is the dictator.
