WhiffleMcMalfie;

I rented a Ford Fusion recently for a trip over to SC and nearly caused several accidents, due to its having a blind spot that would hide an 18-wheeler.

Not comforting. I recently read an article in Science & Technology I think it was that discussed the safety of cars and trucks. It disputes the myths that big SUV's and trucks are safer. The article goes on to discuss the safety of smaller cars and that many of the European cars are much safer. The Dodge Ram pickup for instance is a real people killer.

Anyone who saw tape of the race car crash a few days ago can attest that you can make cars safe. Blind spots are not part of that design.
