Seems to me there are pros and cons with both systems. In answer to your question about the Indian MRI

- I don't know -

I would the Indians are pretty good capitalists and would be happy to take your money.

I made this post awhile ago on another thread.

In Canada we have experience with socialized medicine and it differs sharply from what I have seen in the U.S. I can't speak for Scotland or anywhere else except Brasil where they have excellent medical diagnosis and treatment if you can afford it.

Modern medicine is comprised of two things, diagnosis and treatment. Under socialized medicine in Canada diagnosis is sometimes too expensive to bother with and treatment becomes redundant as the patient dies which is a cost saving bonus to the system, i.e. a good thing. Less patients less expense.

Perhaps the U.S. should offer private diagnosis and socialized treatment. It is very clear they are two completely separate branches of medicine.

DIAGNOSIS

In Canada if you're really ill you are sometimes advised by your own doctor to seek diagnosis in the U.S. at much greater cost.

My doctor is from South Africa as most Canadian trained doctors seek employment in the U.S. where their talents are rewarded.

TREATMENT

In Canada we can treat anything as good as you can in the U.S. only cheaper. Monkey see monkey do.
