At Abu Ghraib, men were covered with feces, forced to fake fellatio on each other, hung from bars and beds, had guard dogs threaten them....all while the prisoners were kept nude. Prisoners had bloodied injuries that were never explained. In fact, blood and cadavers were frequently seen in the photos. There were reports that the younger guys were sodomized by American GIs. Clearly, the torture in Abu Ghraib was more psychological and perverse than physical.
In Afghanistan, the torture was more physical than psychological and there were more reported deaths. Men were beaten without any kind of mercy.........subject to electric shock, cold showers in sub freezing weather, hung from high bars, sodomized with batons, etc.
Have these allegations been proven in a court or court martial?
If these are just allegations you've gotten from your usual sources (NYT, Salon, liberal blogs, or Seymour Hersh) then they must be presumed to be lies, because these are liberals, whom we know will do and say anything to bash our military.
If you have hard evidence of the more egregious items you've listed above from a non-liberal source, then let's discuss it. I haven't followed this incident closely, so I'm not disputing such evidence exists -- but if you saw it at Huffington Post, it is reasonable to assume it is just anti-military hate speech unless there is something (yes, besides doctored photos) to back it up. |
