But waiting lines for the hybrids doesn't mean that hybrid car sales are higher than SUV sales. I'm pretty sure its the other way around, its just that supplies of hybrid cars are lower.

Of course! But if you make six times the SUV's that we need and have to give a Caribbean Island away with every SUV to get them to move what sense does that make? The auto companies shoved those things down Americas throat and now they will pay the price. Meanwhile because HYbrids are in short supply, those companies can get top dollar for them.
