The costs don't go away.

No one, to my knowledge, has ever argued that, Tim. The point is that they are no longer a cost the manufacturer bears, thus lowering production costs. No small perk in a global economy in which health care insurance costs come from general taxpayer dollars.

Given that, it remains more than curious as to why US companies aren't first in line to support universal, single payer health care insurance.
