Actually, since you leaped into this conversation in midstream, perhaps you should know that it was, in fact, about that.


No it isn't, not really. Assuming or proving that they are at such a disadvantage doesn't take you anywhere. If you want to implement single payer to erase the disadvantage, than you have to show that it will do so. The existence of the disadvantage is not strong evidence that the change to single payer will eliminate the disadvantage.

To put it another way the issue isn't "Are American companies at a disadvantage because of health care costs?", but "Are American companies at a disadvantage due to health care costs BECAUSE of the way our health care insurance system is set up or operates?".
