Why is it important for you to believe that things are going terribly in Afghanistan?

Because I know that that's the truth.

Do you really think that a suicide bombing (to the extent that one bombing matters much at all) that kills Afghans is a sign of failure on our part, that we're losing?

One, no. But they are happening with greater and greater frequency.

Don't you see that the Taliban pursuing operations that hurts their cause (makes ordinary Afghans hate them) is not a failure on our part but on theirs?

What does that have to do with the Taliban regaining their stronghold in the South?

And let me tell you something....in spite of GOP spin to the contrary, one of the major reasons the USSR failed is because of Afghanistan. Throughout history, Afghanistan has had a history of bringing down empires.
