<<Wolter's plan is to start training immediately at 7 or 8 weeks.>>

I used his book Water Dog with a Chessie that I got when he was 6 weeks old. Using his training method got me a dog that was a true partner. He'd mind at 300 yards but if I was wrong after 2 tries he'd show me up. Dog was a hard breed to train but using Wolter's way there was never a confrontation. He even ate breakfast with 5 US Senators when we were hunting in Maryland.

Now have a dog that the wife brought home from the pound. Year old shepard airedale cross that had no training or socialization. Wilder than a March hare. Wife unit bought a shock collar. Told me to walk around the yard after she got him wound up and she'd shock him before he attacked me. He hit me in the back hard enough to knock me down twice and bit my arm once and my leg twice before she hit the button. I'll do it again tomorrow but I'll be holding the button.
