I can't think of another time when we faced so many problems all at once - a perfect storm of sorts.

You young'un! The stagflation and general morass and malaise of the 80's and the turmoil of '68 seemed worse to me. Perhaps because I was younger and had less perspective or perhaps because they really were gloomier, I don't know.

Nothing you mention besides global warming and the Iraq war is new although there have been wars before and impending environmental disasters before.

So, do I pull an Obama and give you comfort and sympathy or do I suggest you pull up your bootstraps and your chin and get a grip? I guess I'm doing the latter. <g>
