I have a little more information about the testing the new AEHR equipment does. The information supplements that in the prospectus and annual report. The test process combines burn-in with functional and pattern testing on devices that have been loaded onto trays with a capacity of 1000 devices. The trays are compatable with the reusable DiePak chip carrier and robotics are employed to load the trays or move the chips from one type of tray to another. At the end of the burn-in/functional test, good devices can be packaged or go to final test in other test equipment for the AC, DC and speed characteristics while in the DiePak. The final test need not include the time consuming pattern testing so the throughput of the more expensive test equipment is increased. However, there is evidently a commercial grade where only lot samples go through this final test. So even if burn-in is a time consuming process that the industry wishes it could eliminate, the AEHR equpiment provides a great value added to this process,

I got this further 'enlightenment' from an industry analyst who has seen the equipment in action. Motorola has ordered the MAX2 system to satisfy their applications using known good dies. The new equipment has been in pilot tests at several fabs and they all seem to like it.
