You can hardly talk to one without them going off on a tangent about something negative I really do think there's something to the negative/positive outlook difference. I read last week that Obama was touting his patriotism - he loves America because of the power it gives the individual to challenge and change the society to right injustice. Well, that's a stereotypical viewpoint difference. Liberals seem to love America not for what it is, but what they can see themselves shaping it into. "Land of opportunity" has a whole different meaning in that context.
