I just noticed something about Obama's cleaned up, rephrased comment about small Pa manufacturing towns, People don't vote on economic issues because they don't expect anybody is going to help them The implication is that if only those voters understood the reality of the situation, they would vote for Obama, because he really will help them this time. I'm not seeing any understanding that the Federal government cannot order prosperity to return to any region or state, it can only direct some Federal largess in that direction.
