I like that he didn't cut and run on the reverend. Far too many politicians throw out their friends at the first hint of trouble- that says to me they really don't have any moorings- they'll toss out their friends, and no doubt they'll toss out their values and the public too. I get the sense that Obama holds on to the people he cares about- even if they are flawed. I like that.

Of course I like what he appears to believe in, and nothing the reverend said really bothers me that much (taking in to account his age and his history) save for the part about AIDS- which is whacky, but which it's clear Obama doesn't agree with. So I have zero problem with Obama or the reverend, as long as the reverend isn't running for office. I wouldn't vote for the reverend.
