This is backwards. These women and children should never have been taken from their home which is being called a compound as though they are prisoners of war. If there is anyone who should be taken from the home take the man or men who are alleged to be the leaders. Putting these folks, real people, in a government shelter will impact them for the rest of their lives and not favorably.

"Friday, Texas state Judge Barbara Walther ordered that all children will remain in San Angelo until Thursday's custody hearing. The hearing is expected to last 14 days. Only the mothers who left with their children will be permitted to visit them. The State of Texas is currently providing for 555 people in shelters, including 139 women."

Here's an article that discusses in a broader aspect why polygamy exists today in the mid-west. Is it the truth I don't know------.
