You DO know that the FIRST major Terrorist Attack attempted in the U.S. was in 1993, right?

I don't know that it was the first major terrorist attack ever attempted, but it was the first I know of that was successful.

It was the Terrorist's incompetence and not the lack of intention that prevented even MORE deaths than occurred on 9/11.

What a T-totally stupid remark. There was nothing "incompetent" about the 9/11 attacks.

Iraq could suddenly turn out GREAT tomorrow with all the Sunnis and Shiites and Kurds hugging each other and sending their kids off to camp together and the invasion and the last 5 years would STILL remain the DISASTER that it has been and the handling of it would STILL be a one of the worst foreign policy decisions in the history of the U.S.

I don't agree it has been a disaster. But there is no point arguing it with you.

It is important to remember that the last 8 years have been far more challenging than any 8 year period in most of our lifetimes. Not only due to 9/11, but because of Clinton's mishandling of North Korea and bin Laden and foreign policy in general. While the Left complains about our standing in the world today, it is now clear that the UN doesn't run our foreign policy and that we are and will behave like a sovereign.

Bush inherited the worst mess of any president in modern times, from a foreign policy perspective. Under the circumstances, I'm not sure it is fair to call it a "disaster", although, parts of the war have definitely been mishandled.
