Since MOST of my life was spent actually "working" HARD from the age of 13, I can't help but feel there's something NOT right about my Wife getting hit harder tax wise than I am for what we are both contributing to society at this time.

If you tax capital gains more heavily it inhibits capital formation and therefore eliminates job. Surely, you aren't suggesting that is a good thing.
