Politicians technically represent everyone in their constituency. Whether they know much about many of the voters and/or give a crap about those who are much different from them is open to question. For me, watching powerful multimillionaires clamor to be deemed the most sympathetic to the working poor is a joke. They haven't worried about rent or car payments in decades, and they could literally sit in a chair and do nothing the rest of their lives and live off the interest from their net worth. They are off in a political cloud somewhere.
