Knighty, good advice. those exercise are on my radar, as well as some others. i miss my shoulder shrugs since, frankly, some of my shoulders were cut off shortly after birth - or so it seems. ;-)

i'm thinking of working this program until i get to a certain weight, say 185 8 times and then taking 2 or 3 weeks off from my regular routine to do other things - like some of the exercises you mentioned, shoulder shrugs and more cardio. my cardio has slacked off quite a bit since i started my new routine.

barbells are great because it takes more to control them in 3d space... not to mention the extra effort to get them into place.

keep the good ideas coming. i'm looking for something that will work my forearm without thrashing my nerve across my elbow. i'm trying a few things, but nothing stands out as an exceptional exercise.
