Good article, seems like a few of those guys are using psychological warfare tactics to keep the prices of their acquisition targets down. It will be interesting to see what happens with Candente over the next few months, for example. The updated resource estimate on Canariaco is due within a few weeks and I am betting on at least 10B pounds. Joey Freeze has stated repeatedly that financing will not be a problem, regardless of what the BMO guy said in the article. Peruvian pension funds have lots of money and a mandate to fund domestic projects. Candente has received many proposals for offtake agreements but they see no need to enter into any at this point. Amerigo already owns a big chunk of the company and at PDAC, I heard Steven Dean say that they would look at opportunities to increase their holdings. So...my guess is that while some companies may have difficulty raising capital, juniors with advanced projects may have fewer constraints. As always...we will see.
