Dear Fred: After reviewing the past couple of hundred posts to get a feel of reaction I must say yours is about the most sensible one I have read. I was wondering when all these "self appointed" experts would realize what you just stated. Intel is no longer an upstart but a mature company participating in a technological revolution which is still in its infancy (travel overseas and you will see what I mean). They are one of the few companies with the economic MUSCLE to contribute and be rewarded handsomely. Their existing FAB plants were purchased at a fraction of what it now costs to build and in the case of the older ones have been entirely written off already. If a price war develops on low end chips INTC is the ONLY company in a position to win. I could go on but why bother. JDN
