The trend is up - a rising moving average, to use the stocks analogy. The point is 10 year wiggle dips have to be taken with a grain of salt. We can't think in linear terms when it comes to meteorology & climate - after all that's where we got the "Butterfly Effect" from. It's possible this warming will lead to another Ice Age - and of course you could then say "Yeah, that global warming was a myth" A bit like the war mongers saying now "we told you AQ is a problem in Iraq !"
