RE: low China salaries Mike, Last time I checked with Fudan University business dean, Masters graduates in finance were paid circa $12k (no housing) in private sector in Pudong. This corresponds with the word from Shenzhen and a few other areas in the growth part of the country. We have had professors hired away for >$100,000 US in Hong Kong, and they had to sell in the streets only two nights a week, no worse than here! The Foreign Invested sector pays poorly by our standards but great by Chinese State Enterprise standards to which you were referring, and you don't have to study the sacred texts. I read that Intel Inside computers are selling like moon cakes in Southside.
