My point is that organizing in more sectors might well narrow the income gap.

In some places. Those without competition. Not the majority of places.

The most efficient way to narrow the gap is to lop off the top end. Maybe the new prez could jawbone executive salaries. That would make everyone feel better. Wouldn't improve their lifestyle but the stat would look like a great accomplishment.

One of the reasons the gap has grown so much has been the weakness of labor unions and their relative absence in national politics.

I wonder what condition our economy would be in had we not backed off on unionization. No way to know for sure.

My pithy comment for the day: Union dues are an overhead expense. Weigh on both employer and employee. Mutually assured destruction.
