VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 14, 2008) - Adroit Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ADT.V)(FRANKFURT:A7V)(BERLIN:A7V) -
Management is pleased to provide the following drilling results for its 2,599.05 metres, 13 hole, winter drill program recently completed at its wholly owned Simon Copper/Zinc Property located in Ontario, Canada.
The Property consists of 12 contiguous claims (140 units) covering 2,440 hectares in Denbigh and Lyndoch townships. The program was split between the South Zone, 3 holes totaling 884.80 meters, the North Zone, 2 holes totaling 286.40 metres, D Zone 2 holes totaling 422 metres and the B Zone, 6 holes totaling 1,005.84 metres.
South Zone
The South Zone has a historical 250,000 ton 1.1% grade copper resource that does not comply with NI 43-101. Additionally, Zinc was discovered in this historic copper resource (see News Release April 11, 2007) by the Company. The Company is not treating the historical estimate as a current mineral resource and the historical estimate should not be relied upon. A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as a current mineral resource. The mineralization of the South Zone consists of disseminated to massive chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and minor pyrite and spalerite. The mineralization is contained within a 45 degrees east dipping lens. The 3 holes tested the continuity of the South Zone.
South Zone Assay Results
The better assay results include the following. The intersections summarized below are the drill intersected core lengths and do not represent the true widths.
------------------------------------------------------ HOLE NUMBER From (m) To (m) Length(m) Cu (%) Zn (%) ------------------------------------------------------ SC-24 209.80 210.15 0.35 0.35 0.10 ------------------------------------------------------ 235.65 238.45 3.35 0.41 NIL ------------------------------------------------------ SC-25 272.95 273.40 0.45 0.31 0.21 ------------------------------------------------------ 274.75 275.30 0.55 0.51 0.37 ------------------------------------------------------ 303.12 303.80 0.68 0.37 NIL ------------------------------------------------------ SC-26 209.60 209.90 0.30 1.00 0.12 ------------------------------------------------------
B Zone
The B Zone is located 1,400 metres south of the South Zone. The B Zone is one of five airborne anomalies with signatures that resemble the response over the historic Simon Copper Deposit (South Zone). The B Zone was discovered in March 2007 by the Company and 5 holes were completed totaling 615 metres with the best result being a 13.8 metres intersection at 0.37% Cu and 1.33% Zn incl.1.5 metres 0.99% Cu and 1.71% Zn. The mineralization of the B zone consists of disseminated to massive chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite, pyrite and sphalerite. The mineralization is contained within a 50 degrees east dipping lens. This year's 6 holes were drilled to test the continuity of the B Zone.
B Zone Assay Results
Highlights of the significant assay results are tabulated below. The intersections summarized below are the drill intersected core lengths and do not represent the true widths.
------------------------------------------------------ HOLE NUMBER From (m) To (m) Length(m) Cu (%) Zn (%) ------------------------------------------------------ B-06 122.59 130.45 7.86 0.29 0.91 ------------------------------------------------------ incl. 123.94 125.90 1.96 0.80 1.01 ------------------------------------------------------ incl. 127.75 128.94 1.19 0.15 3.00 ------------------------------------------------------ B-10 148.47 149.10 0.63 0.55 1.87 ------------------------------------------------------
D Zone
Results from the TD-EM survey completed in May 2007 on the D Zone grid identified several drill targets for follow-up. Two holes were completed this year totaling 422 meters to initially test the anomaly with no significant assay results though some mineralization was encountered.
North Zone
The North Zone is located 450 metres north of the South Zone. The North zone showing is hosted within gabbro and consists of chalcopyrite, magnetite, pyrite and pyrrhotite. Grab samples from trenching have returned assays of up to 11.2 % Copper. Only 1 hole was drilled by Noranda in the early 1990's, which intercepted two narrow sulphide zones. No assays were reported by Noranda. Two holes were completed this year to test the anomaly.
North Zone Assay Results
Highlights of the significant assay results are tabulated below. The intersections summarized below are the drill intersected core lengths and do not represent the true widths.
------------------------------------------------------ HOLE NUMBER From (m) To (m) Length(m) Cu (%) Zn (%) ------------------------------------------------------ SC-28 6.90 14.90 8.00 0.58 NIL ------------------------------------------------------ incl. 12.80 13.90 1.1 3.39 NIL ------------------------------------------------------
Gold Assay Results
Gold anomalies were discovered in two drill holes. In hole B-06 on the B Zone and hole SC-28 on the North Zone. The assay results are tabulated below. The intersections summarized below are the drill intersected core lengths and do not represent the true widths.
---------------------------------------------- HOLE NUMBER From (m) To (m) Length(m) Au g/t ---------------------------------------------- B-06 123.94 125.02 1.08 0.20 ---------------------------------------------- B-06 125.02 125.90 0.88 0.19 ---------------------------------------------- SC-28 7.70 8.50 0.80 0.12 ---------------------------------------------- SC-28 12.35 12.80 0.45 0.14 ---------------------------------------------- SC-28 12.80 13.90 1.10 0.11 ----------------------------------------------
While the drilling campaign has not returned results as good as expected, it confirms the presence of Cu and Zn mineralization and shows alteration patterns indicative of volcanogenic massive sulphides. This, together with the discovery made last year and with the fact that the drilled targets are part of a larger number of untested indications, gives the Company the confidence that the property has the potential to host sizeable massive sulphide copper-zinc mineralization. A surface exploration program is being prepared for this summer to test the remaining airborne anomalies on the property. A map of the above drill holes will be posted soon on the Company's web site.
All Assaying. Samples were analyzed by Accurassay Laboratories in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Analyses for Au was done using a fire assay lead collection with an AA finish, and for the remaining elements using aqua regia digestion with an ICP finish. Adroit employs a strict quality control program consisting of inserting standards, duplicates, and blanks for each batch of samples. Should any of the standards fall outside the warning limits (+/- 2 standard deviations); reassays will be performed on 10% of the samples analyzed in the same batch and the reassay values are compared with the original values. If the values from the reassays match original assays the data is certified, if they do not match the entire batch is reassayed. Should any of the standard fall outside the control limit (+/- 3SD) all assay values are rejected and all of the samples in that batch will be reassayed.
The drill program was supervised by Dr. Mehmet Taner, P.Geo, PhD. Guy Franceschi, Economic Geologist (Director, Adroit Resources Inc.) has verified and approved the geological information contained within this news release. Mr. Franceschi satisfies the requirements of a Qualified Person as defined in the National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects).
