Got a couple of questions for those who know the ethanol sector..

1.) Have they figured out how they are going to streamline the logistics of transporting Ethanol? As I currently understand it, ethanol cannot be transported in normal gasoline pipelines (or even co-mingled) since it absorbs water -which is always present in these pipes- and it also corrodes the welds.

2.) What is the standard amount of gallons per acre production of ethanol. I've seen anything from 300-500 gallons per acre:

3.) Why is ethanol receiving more attention (and subsidies) than algae based bio-fuels (such as bio-diesel/ethanol)?

4.) Is there legislation on the table to remove the import tariffs for ethanol imported from other countries?

Just curious.. I really suspect that the Bush administration may be required to tone down their advocacy of ethanol over the uproar it is causing in the average families food budgets.
