We're on a family plan that shares 2000 minutes (evenings, nights and weekends are free anyway and not counted).

ATT phones use a SIM card. The card stores all the account info, telephone numbers, etc. So if I were to pull the SIM card out of my Razr and, say, put it into an unlocked Palm Treo, or any variety of other unlocked phone, the ATT network recognizes that phone as being my phone.

We've been thinking about adding our youngest daughter to the account (an add'l charge of $9.99/mo to share the minutes) and then getting her one of these cheap Go Phones.
