Spectrum is holding steady at $5.00. By the end of this week, we
should probably see a rise up to about 5 1/2 - $6, due to the increasing
popularity of their recent releases. Grand Prix 2 is quickly becoming
one of the top games in the nation, far surpassing the popularity of
Papyrus' Indy Car II. GPII has better graphics, more realism, and
is more fun to play than its once worthy predecessor. Let's see,
Microprose has the #1 game in the nation, and their top three titles
so far have sold more than 1,000,000 copies. What's preventing their
stock from going through the roof? Beats me! Maybe investors are
waiting to see a press release from Spectrum Holobyte to confirm
that their sales are really picking up. This is a no-brainer.
Look what happened to Activision's stock after they release MechWarrior2.
It shot up to near 19 from a low of about 6. Civilization II is
poised to stay #1 in the gaming industry for several more months,
and will likely be named Game of the Year. How can you go wrong with
this stock? With Spectrum Holobyte's balance sheet improving (only
a .07 loss last quarter after a .42 loss the previous quarter), they
should starting seeing some profits next quarter. They've trimmed
their staff and restructured to become more profitable. Anyone
considering buying into a video game/ entertainment stock should
consider SBYT for their portfolio. After a year in the doldrums,
the video game industry, and Spectrum Holobyte in particular, are
ready to take off!
